Society teaches to be envious of beautiful young women, with tight [...] I need to write… a poem early… Before breakfast. Before caffeine dilutes My train of thought. Before dreams are lost And plans for work Muddle my mind, With stuff Of yesterdays Of tomorrows Of days left behind And gifts of days lingering to become As yet, unwrapped. I write… as my heart Fills [...] I will make it easy for you I will walk away say adieu Before you… Before you have a chance to destroy That of me which I love most Since you do not comprehend What is unique about us In all the world Or maybe you do… More than I am willing to let in [...] She used to say “You’ll be sorry you were born a female.” As if I had a choice at six Little children come back for more.
