She works too hard for approval
My friend
Tap dancing, tap dancing
For all who enter
Round and round
Faster and faster
For some who are worthy
Those who are not
The quest for approval
All that attention
All that energy
All that time
Or maybe not
Tap shoes on, tap shoes off
Left outside the front door
Next to the sign
No more – Ø

It can’t be easy, needing so much approval from other people.
It isn’t easy, needing approval from other people. I’m still learning to dance just for the joy of it.
I like the way this builds energy, more frenetic, repetition giving that – then slows and changes to a choice. Very strong delivery of this existence.
Dancing for the wrong reasons. Funny how you can always tell if the dancer is performing or if the dancer is expressing joy. I love a good joyful dance.
Here’s a joyful dance for you! I think this is my current favorite on YouTube.

I’m so glad you like it! I watch it a lot – always wishing I could have a ceremony and do the same thing – I just love the joy.
If you look closely, you’ll see a world full of dancing people, all tripping over each other for front and center stage. SIGH.
What a beautiful example the youtube video referenced above is. It took almost 30 sec before a big smile decorated my face and I started laughing. I will strive to remember not to trip over anybody heading for center stage, although I will find that difficult.
